Hello! I am so grateful you are here! My name is Maren, and I am the crazy person behind DIY Diaries!

All of my life I have wanted to have a blog and be a blogger. I can remember when I was doing some activity, like collecting leaves at 10 years old, I would think about what I would be writing for my book at that very moment (because when I was 10, blogs were few and far between).

Being a kid, I wrote an ENTIRE page (you know, in the era of pencils and paper?) on what I observed about those leaves, and I thought I wrote a book. I am happy to say I have much more patience now than I did back then. If you’re loyal, you might even get to read an entire typed page about a leaf! You lucky ducks.

I have always loved reading, writing, and had a strong desire to be the kind of artist people talk about. While fame is no longer my end-goal, it would be pretty neat to see this blog go somewhere.

Personal

I have been married to Cody, my better half, for just about eight years now. We have two beautiful girls, Penny and Nellie. These three people are the best parts of my life! We love to spend time with each other, especially outdoors.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL). I have not yet had the opportunity to teach in a classroom outside of my student teaching, as I found out I was pregnant with my older daughter less than two weeks after graduating.

My hobbies include doing house projects, refinishing furniture, reading, cross stitching, whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, and just being outside in general.
